A modern mobile banking app delivered under urgent PSD2 and IPS rules
When the EU enforced PSD2 and instant-payment rules, one of Eastern Europe's top banks was under pressure. Its legacy TCP/IP core and aging Cordova app could not support the requirements; internal IT capacity was stretched thin, and the National Bank's deadline carried real penalties and service-disruption risk.

Challenge
When the EU introduced instant-payment rules, a top Eastern European bank found itself under pressure. Its legacy tech wasn't able to support the new requirements. The in-house IT team, young and focused on modern tech, lacked experience with the old system and was stretched thin. The National Bank's deadline was looming and the risk of losing a growing user base was high.
Solution
We moved in two phases, adding instant payments (P2P, Request-to-Pay, Me2Me), improving login with biometrics and processing in under a second, all on legacy app. Then we migrated to a new app with real-time payments and biometric authentication. The app was rebuilt for scale, with no downtime. The result is an app that unifies accounts, cards, loans, transfers and government payments.
